*On Monday, the Red Sox were 10 1/2 games behind the Yankees in the AL East. Boston has won five in a row, and now trail New York by 6 1/2 games. If Boston can cut the lead to 4 games by August 31st, the AL East crown is not impossible. What a few days does, huh?
