Not only is Matt Wade the best brother in the world, he is probably the most faithful fan the Boston Red Sox could ever have. (He is also gets mistaken for Kurt Russell)

RED SOX WIN SIXTH-STRAIGHT; YANKEES LOSE
BY: MATT WADE, (BOSTON-----) The Boston Red Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers 6-1 on
Sunday afternoon. Sox knuckleballer Tim Wakefield pitched eight strong
innings, allowing three hits and one run. Wakefield inproves to (11-7)
on the year. He is 6-1 in his last seven starts.
To make the day even better, American League rivals, the New York
Yankees, did not come back today, and lost 6-4 to the dreadful Toronto
Blue Jays. The Red Sox, who trailed by 10 1/2 games less than two weeks
ago, find themselves only 4 1/2 games out of first place in the East
(the closest the Sox have been to them since June 23). The Red Sox play
six more games with the Yankees, and as we all know, anything can
happen.
Do you miss Nomar? Boston certainly does not. The Red Sox are 21-8
since the departure of the whining star shortstop. Sources tell the
Globe, he doesn't like Chicago too much either. Oh well.
The Sox begin a consecutive three-game home series against Wild
Card rivals, the Anaheim Angels and the Texas Rangers, respectfully.
Curt Schilling gets the nod for Boston on Tuesday night versus the
Angels.
"Tuesday is a big game for us. Hopefully, I can send us on the
right track for the rest of the series, Matt," said Schilling yesterday.
The Red Sox are now 1 1/2 games ahead of the Anaheim Angels in the Wild
Card, and with Texas' loss today, the Sox lead them by 3 whole
games.

non-biased reporter, like you."
"You are such an #$%hole!" (referring to my comments that the Yankees
are slipping away last week)
