THE ANTI-OSCARS TOP TEN
HERE'S 10 MOVIES YOU SHOULD SEE IF YOU CAN FIND THEM:
My Anti-Oscars Top Ten of movies that I loved growing up.
10) NEIGHBORS
- Belushi is insane. One of the first rated R movies I saw on HBO.
9) Swamp Thing - Adrienne Barbeau in all her glory. I remember seeing this when I was 7, in the morning during February Vacation at my Aunt Dee Dee and Uncle George's. After we (my brother and cousin) watched the movie we ate Pilsbury Cinnemon Rolls.
8) Strange Brew - Rick Moranis is the man. I love this movie. I don't mind when people say I look like Rick Moranis, he gets all the ladies.
7) 9 to 5 - Good Golly Miss Dolly, she's great in this. But But But, Dabney Coleman steals the show. Another early 80's HBO gem.
6) Breakin - Innovative.
Saw this in Hookset, NH shortly before they tore down the movie theater. My Godfather Joe drove me, my brother, and my cousins Marc and Greg to this 'Citizen Kane' of cool.
5)Take This Job and Shove It - Sometimes I wish...
4) They Live - Roddy Roddy Piper is one tough S.O.B. who is out of bubblegum.
Watched this on a Saturday night in High School with my Grandmother and Great Aunt Arety. They loved it and so did I. (Arety used to always make me nachos in high school - they were also incredible.)
3) The Wanderers - Ken Wahl pre-Wiseguy.
50's nostalgia. Plus 'Meat' from 'Porky's' is in it.
2) Eddie and the Cruisers - No Brainer! This is why I live in Jersey.
The first time I saw this was 3rd grade, at our house. My parents, brother, cousins, Aunt Arety, all watched this movie. It was and still is... GREAT!
***1) Cracking Up! Jerry Lewis' finest performance (A Wade family favorite). Probably the hardest to find movie on the list, but... it made Papa Wade laugh hard.
(*** the most quoted movie in the Wade household.)
