December 28, 2004 -- FORMER teen heartthrob Scott Baio is coming back with a sitcom project about a fortysomething guy who moves in with a fellow in his 20s and turns his life upside down.

Baio, 43, is best known for his starring role in the 1980s comedy "Charles in Charge" as well as his turn as Charles "Chachi" Arcola on "Happy Days."

The new TV project doesn't have a name yet but has received a commitment from NBC.

I looked out of the fourth floor window of the
Associated Press Building at 50 Rockefeller Center
and saw 'the tree' all lit up in its glory.

It was 1998, and I'd been in New York City for 7
months and was working the 4pm-12am shift on Christmas
Eve in the AP Photo Office as a photo assistant.

I had just gotten off the phone with ALL of my
relatives in New Hampshire. This was my first
Christmas away from home. Everyone was gathered at my
Uncle George and Aunt Dee Dee's. Everybody told me
how proud they were of me and how much they missed me.

After a day of badmouthing Jason Varitek to my dad and saying that I'd rather have Posada the Sox re-signed him.

And now I take back everything I said.

I love everybody that was in 'Meet the Fockers' but was it funny?
NOT SO MUCH!

Everybody tried way too hard, WAY TOO HARD! And when in doubt, someone fell down (for laughs). There were a few things that were actually funny but not enough for $10.50.

OTHER MOVIE NOTES:
The Dr. Pepper 20 ouncer I snuck into the movie theater was excellent and so was the Snicker "Big Grab" Candy bar I also snuck in.

The buffalo chicken tenders I snuck into the movie were great but my fellow movie goers didn't like the "smell" of them. TOO BAD, JERKS! I just wish I hadn't dropped the blue cheese dressing on the person's coat beside my (I wasn't 'with' that person). My bad.

Watch Lonny (seen here with Pat Cooper and Wade) on Late Night With Conan O'Brien (NBC 12:35am). He is in a sketch after Whoppee Goldberg is on.

YIKES, WHAT IS THIS PLACE?:
I was at South Station in Boston and saw that the Dunkin Donuts is no longer there. NOW A HONEY DEW DONUTS has replaced it. The donut was stale (chocolate frosted) and the coffee sucked!

Has anybody ever tasted this fuel? Does HDD deserve to compete with the Starbucks and DD giants?

I never had a Starbucks coffee until like 5 or 6 years ago. I don't like the taste. But usually when I am working (in TV), I get coffee there for free.

Pedro Martinez has got a wee bit of explaining to do.

A big snub by the Mets' new ace toward his little sidekick has left 28-inch-tall Nelson de la Rosa steaming-mad - and vowing to stick with the Boston Red Sox rather than turn into a Mini-Met.

"He broke my heart," de la Rosa told the Daily News yesterday. "That's not right what he said about me."

At his introductory press conference last week, Martinez laughed off the Dominican dwarf's role as a good-luck charm during Boston's curse-breaking World Series run, saying, "That was just a trick."

Then he really set off his little buddy by scooping up a midget who showed up to blast de la Rosa as a "palm-sized pipsqueak."

"That little guy just wants to be famous," said de la Rosa, 37, who once starred in a movie alongside Hollywood heavyweight Marlon Brando. "Well, I'm already famous."

Martinez and de la Rosa have not spoken since they rode on a float together during the Red Sox victory parade.

While de la Rosa keeps snapshots of him with his much larger amigo during happier times, he angrily huffs and waves his infant-sized hands at the mere mention of the hurler's name. "I wanted him to stay with Boston, but that's his decision," he said.

People were all talking about it today at work, and I missed it.

Last night I went to the NBC AGENCY PARTY to see Frank Radice's band 'RADMAN' at the Cutting Room. They were amazing! Marc Pender from 'The Max Weinberg 7' showed up, too. Crazy Good! Great party and great night! Wow!

During the band's intermission I was called up on stage (kudos Rich B.) to do a few minutes of stand-up. IT was a very nice gesture and I was very excited and flattered to be called up on stage.

Mouth watering!

WHAT WADE THINKS:
I am very very sad. I love DC, but I would be happy to sub for him. I need the money!

When I was 9 years old, I was at Fenway Park with my parents and my brother.

Sean McDonough was then the pre-game host for the Red Sox and walked by our seats. I yelled, "Hey, it's Sean!" He turned around and greeted me and my family. He was a classy guy and very genuine. He was also a co-host/sidekick on a weekly TV38 show called 'Ask the manager'. The next week he mentioned meeting us on the air (BY NAME, "I'd like to say hi to MATT AND ADAM".

It meant alot to me at the time and still does. I've worked at NBC Sports and CBS Sports here in NYC and he ranks right up there with the best in the business. I always looked forward to going home to NH in the summer to watch Red Sox games with my brother, mother and dad and listening to Sean and Jerry Remy do the play-by-play.

Sean, best of luck in your post Red Sox life. You're the best!

McDonough shocked he's not coming back

His emotions alternating between his trademark humor and broken-voiced sadness, veteran broadcaster Sean McDonough confirmed yesterday that NESN informed him last Friday that he will not be part of the Red Sox broadcast team in 2005.

"I've had 17 wonderful years of doing Red Sox games," said McDonough. "If I can just say, I'd like the fans to know how much I've appreciated their support through the years. It's been a privilege to have that job. From the age of 7 or 8, that's the job I wanted. I can't tell you how many people have said to me along the way, `You have the best job in the world.' And my response to them all the time was, `You're right, I do!' To walk around your hometown for 17 years, and have people tell you they enjoyed your work -- how much they enjoyed me and Jerry Remy -- I can't tell you how much I appreciated that over the years."
