WADE VACATION: DAY 3 in review!

SUNBURNED FEET:
Hit the beach today and loaded up on the SPF45! The arms, the back, the earlobes, the legs, the calves etc. I forgot one spot (see photo).

LOVING NAPLES:

Loving Naples, Florida. Here's a few things I've learned so far about Naples:

1)Not too many people my age (besides our waitresses)

2)Not too many people ten years older than me

3)Not too many people 15 years older than me.

4)They have a Walmart here bigger than the city of Hoboken.

5)Groundskeepers/landscapers tend to wave hello back to you (see my reaction in the photo when one of them waved back at me).

6)It's very peaceful down here.

7)People ride bicycles here slower than the pace I walk. I mean

today I saw an old buck riding a bike soooooooooo slow I couldn't comprehend the fact that he was actually balancing himself up.

OUT TO EAT WITH THE GIRLS:

I went out to eat with my Aunt Susie and my mother tonight. We ate at a place called REAL SEAFOOD, and I had the swordfish and it

seemed... real.

VACATION DAY 2: GEORGE HAMILTON'S TAN LOOK OUT!

POOL BOY:
Today, I spent the afternoon by the pool.

BRONZE BEAUTY:
And look at the tan I am getting.

UH OH:
I think I got a little water in my ears (hope this doesn't affect my sinuses).

VACATION FOOD UPDATE:
(I forgot to take photos of my meals)

Big Breakfast!

Big dinner (filet mignon) - very pretty waitress!!!!

I am about to eat some Ben and Jerry Choc Brownie Ice Cream right now.

Bravo Jeff! Hope you're having a good time.

WADE ON VACATION DAY 1

Yes, I am on vacation, a week of 'R' AND 'R!'

Took the Jet Blue plane out to Naples, FL today to visit my Aunt Susie for a few days.

There was a very young kid running back and forth on the flight, at least 50 times. It REALLY nerved me up. I guess I am a bus traveler guy at heart, and this running around screaming kid didn't help me fight my 'airplane' nerves.

Got to see the movie 'WALK THE LINE' on the flight. I liked it up to the points when the young kid on the flight ran past me on in the aisle of the plane ----which happened about every 2 minutes. I guess I will have to watch it again to give my full opinion.

I am now at my Aunt Susie's place. She cooked an awesome dinner for me (see photo).

She watching Grey's Anatomy right now. I am just chilling out.

R AND R, WADESTYLE!

GUNS N ROSES COMEBACK... WHAT ABOUT THE MFC?

Every couple months I hear about 'Guns N Roses' and their possible comeback.

BUT nobody ever asks about the great BAND from New Hampshire, THE MFC (aka THE MESSAGE FROM CAESAR).

This folk rock band (born: in 1995, disbanded/the last time performing as a group: in 1998 in Fairview, NJ) were way ahead of their time.

Now they are just a tiny blip on the radar. They ruled the WKNH Keene State College (Keene, NH) airways every Monday from 1995-1998 and then vanished.

Will they ever return?

We'll see.

LONG BUS RIDE + WHOPPER = ALMOST BIG TROUBLE FOR WADE

I came minutes away from having a major 'accident' on the ol' Greyhound bus today.

We stopped off at a BURGER KING and I got a WHOPPER (w/cheese) and a medium Dr Pepper (something I haven't had in 10 years).

Luckily, I held myself together.

I think it will be my last Whopper ever!!!!!

Not my last busride though.

ACTION SHOT: WADE WORKING HARD!

This photo is a perfect example of WADE working hard.

I am on my way down to tape a bump for 'CLASSIC NOW', you can see how pumped up I look. Eye of the tiger (chewing on a Hallz - for my voice)!

And in the background is my co-worker, TAURINO (no, I swear it's not Rich Voss), he looks to be in awe of the greatness that is Wade.

Trust me TAURINO, you are not the only one.

RED SOX STICK IT TO THE YANKS, AGAIN!

I love it!

Yanking The Yankees:Little League Asked To Drop Yankees Names

NEWS FROM February 08, 2006 DATE: 2006.02.08 Lowell, MA SOURCE:

Red Sox Nation is marching on the New York Yankees "Evil Empire" and the plan is to ban Yankee jerseys from Little League baseball all over New England.

Boston Red Sox fans love to hate the Yankees, but now hating the Bronx Bombers is moving from the big league park to Little League baseball fields as some youth teams are turning on in their Yankee jerseys forever. The Lowell Spinners, who are owned by the Red Sox, are offering to replace all youth league Yankee jerseys with Spinners jerseys for free. Several Little League teams have agreed to shed the Yankee jersey, in fact one coach said he was tired of little kids in Yankee jerseys getting booed at parades.

Not only are the Spinners offering to pay for new jerseys, for towns around New England, they are also offering those teams a chance to play at the brand new Lowell ball park.

MY STREET-CART FOOD MAN LOVES THE LADIES!

The guy I get my coffee and juice from in the morning is a cool guy.

Today I was getting my stuff when a pretty woman walked by and he said,

"New York is the place to be my friend, AMAZING LOOKING ladies. BIG TIME BABELICIOUS BEAUTIES."

In print, this might not read funny, but they way he said it... well, it was the highlight of my day.

IT'S ONLY ROCK AND ROLL AND HEYMAN LIKES IT!

I am a huge Rolling Stones fan!

I love many many many of their songs.

But last night... they broke my heart.

With the catalog of songs they have, why did they have to play one from their last album that nobody knew?

WHAT WADE WOULD'VE LIKED TO HEAR:

SISTER MORPHINE

DEAD FLOWERS

IT'S ONLY ROCK AND ROLL

PAINT IT BLACK

MIDNIGHT RAMBLER

STREET FIGHTING MAN

Other Superbowl notes:

-I am back from Motown.

-My pal Jeff Heyman loved the Stones' performance (and he says he's not a fan)

-I beat Nick the Fish in darts (Brother Jeff aka THE ENFORCER is Next!!!!)

-Ed Shirak Sr throws a mean bash

-Hope you're feeling better Sir Walter

-Matt "the bear" Sears I added your link

WADE'S WEEK OF SUPERBOWL FOOD IN DETROIT!

"ON THE ROAD,
THERE'S ROAD FOOD! THERE'S FUEL."
----
Barry Sprague

--------------------
WADE FOOD RECAP

SUNDAY:

Right off the plane I ate at Wendy's.
I got a junior cheeseburger - plain
And an order of chicken strips

And... a BIG DR PEPPER.

-------------------------------

MONDAY NIGHT WE HIT ZINGERMAN'S ROADHOUSE
I got the ribs
Niman Ranch pork ribs, cooked for nine hours. Served with Alex's special tomato BBQ sauce, mashed local potatoes and yellow mustard slaw.

and the mac and cheese
Homemade cream sauce and lots of 2-year old raw-milk Vermont cheddar tossed to order with the Martelli family's artisanal macaroni from Tuscany (the best pasta in the world!).
----------------------------

WE ALSO ATE AT
CHAMPPS a few times.
The extra 'p' is for BIG PORTIONS!

(fyi: you can't use your CHAMPS SPORTING GOODS coupons or gift certificates there.)

First time (Sunday, late, late night), I got this chicken peanut sauce thing. It was pretty awesome (enough food for 4 people).

Next time (Wednesday night)...
I got fried Calamari (not bad)

and this weird salad with an umbrella in it.

Rootbeer in a frosty mug was very nice!

Crisa and Candice were our bartenders and they were very sweet.

--------------------------

BREAKFAST:
The hotel I stayed at had FREE breakfast every day. I stuck to the basics - eggs and bacon, raspberry yogurt, apple and orange juice.

--------------------------
JUST LIKE HOBOKEN:
Tthursday for lunch we ate at the Johnny Rockets in Detroit. I couldn't believe they had one there too. I had a strawberry shake, O RINGS and a burger. I felt like I was on Washington Street in 'Boken.

GEORGE TOMA IS A GREAT GUY!

Following Media Day, a huge crew started working on the field. I walked over to a gentleman and starting talking to him. His name was George Toma and he is the NFL's Artificial and Natural Turf Consultant. He makes sure the field is in perfect condition. He had a million stories and they were all really interesting. He took the time to chat with me and I really appreciated it. So when you watch the game tomorrow, look at the field, THIS MAN MADE IT THE BEST IT CAN BE!

Bravo George!

|

MORE STUFF FROM THE SUPERBOWL!

I took this photo on Tuesday right after Media Day. The field was swamped with reporters and both teams had an hour to chat about the big game.

The Steelers seemed more serious, and the Seahawks seemed very loose.
