April 30, 2003

Now my friend and coworker SHANTE' is playing air saxophone. And Jon Morganthau (another worker) is dancing and doing dog sound effects. How could this day get any better?

|

Just now I was able to hear two of my favorite co-workers sing 'True Colors' over the phone. I could cry right now I am so filled for joy. They made my day! Bless the hearts of Sara and Katie and their perfect pitch. They sing like angels. And thanks to Jessica for holding the phone to my ear as I ate a pastrami sandwich with Russian Dressing slopped all over my face. Today has been a good day.

April 29, 2003

Tonight I did a show in Hoboken at Rodeo/Rista.
Some hilights to the show.
The eversweet, Lisa was the emcee and did a great job!

My set was a work in progress (meaning: ouch, two people walked out - one of them looked like Ron Jeremey on roids.(no joke)
Heavy metal instrumental band 02 rocked the house. The guitar was very good.
A 75 year old lady read poetry with the help of a flashlight. Her poem about supermarkets kicked majot butt.
Thunderchicken were back. The 80s were back in full force. GREAT STUFF.
John Kennedy, not JFK was back and playing very good.
Sharon was new and sang a beautiful set! Wade even went up to talk to her after - WADE YOU DAWG!
Didn't stay to see 'Ron the poet' but I hope it went well.

footnote: the website only had 24 hits today so thankfully I won't be crapping my pants.
Whew!

|

I don't mean to brag but I have 19 visitors today and it's not even noon.
This could break the ALLTIME WADE record.
I promise if I get 50 visitors today I will crap my pants.

|

Celebrity Sighting.

I saw Regis Philben in Duane Reade south of Columbus Circle in a FILA jumpsuit -no joke.

(insert your own diaper joke)

SUPERDAY TODAY! HUMINA HUMINA! WOWIE!

I have the day off and just took a long walk. I'm going to join the YMCA today so I can start toning up. Just 30 minutes four times a week of a little lifting weights (light weights, many reps) and I will be ready!

READY?
Yes, ready. Ready to wear my *tanktop* to work. LOOK OUT LADIES! WADE IS IN THE HOUSE AND HE'S A BIT UNTONE NOW, BUT GIVE ME 5 MONTHS and we'll see who's drooling over what!!!!!!

Amen.

|

April 28, 2003

Wow! It's a great Monday REAL Spring day! The weather is incredible.
I am working at Comedy Central today. FREE BREAKFAST: banana, two cups of oj, a piece of toasted raisin bread, a half of plain bagel with a little butter and a strawberry oatmeal bar. Life is good.

Not much else going on today. I am wearing the Spring shirt my grandmother picked out when I was home. Robert, my cool fellow worker said it looked great. Thanks R, you made my day.

|

April 27, 2003

I am working this awesome spring day at NBC SPORTS FOR ARENA FOOTBALL! ATTENTION: GLENN PARKER MAY NOT BE HERE (he's one of the on-air talent people )- you heard it first here. The big guy has food poisoning -ouch.

Everybody at NBC SPORTS (Trish, Randy, Fred and Jimmy D) all agree I shouldn't have told the ladies that I was 'in' with the NBC commissary workers. But you know what, they might be right, but I'll tell you Jackie and Pablo in the commissary are great people and they deserve to be talked about.

|

April 26, 2003

WADE WORD TO THE WISE:
Don't go up to 4 girls at a bar and talk about how you can get a 50% discount at your work commissary because 'you're in' with the commissary workers. Tonight that wasn't beneficial to the Wade.

|

April 25, 2003

Celebrity sighting
Film Director Jim Jarmusch- who passed by one of my shows at the Orange Bear (circa 1999).
He was walking on University Place by the Blockbuster Video Store, last night around 9ish.
I mumbled -"Hey Jimmy."

He smiled a little smile and continued to roll along past me.

|

Today I spent a beautiful Spring NYC day in Washington Square Park working at the 'Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn' booth for Comedy Central. Tall Cad, Caryn, Angelique, and of course Julie were there with me. Some beautiful women out! Some nutty people too. GOOD NEWS I DIDN'T STEP IN DOGGIE DOO TODAY.

Ate a sandwich at a sub place and they f-ed it up major. How do you screw up a turkey sandwich?

Well, I may hit Boston Market tonight! I want some real food.

ADAM WADE ANNOUNCES SPRING TOUR 2003
(right here on this site)
"The following shows I will be trying mostly new material with little or no guitar at all. I am focusing on story-telling that is hopefully funny. Oh the times are a changing but old WADE is the same guy who came to NYC 5 years ago with a backpack and guitar at hand on the Greyhound bus from New Hampshire. I want to improve and feel the guitar is nice, but let the people hear WADE talk a bit more. Bravo Wade. Remember Wade likes to talk in the 3rd person singular but doesn't have a big ego, honest. So let's hope this is a step in the right direction, something new, something fresh. My hat goes off to WADE for trying and being out there, making it happen. Gotta love the WADE! " - WADE

Happy Thursday. I just ate a great roast beef sandwich. It is sunny here in NYC but cold.
I stepped in doggie doo today - that's good luck!!!!!!!!!

Let's see now, I had to throw away my $70 sneakers, and my foot still stinks.
Where's the good luck??????

|

April 23, 2003

Just ate a corn muffin. There goes the WADE diet!
Did a show last night in Hoboken, the talking stories are improving.

Feeling tired and grouchy today. Congrats to Jon and Megan, good people who are getting married this week.

|

April 22, 2003

I received the best advice in a long time today.

If you miss the bus, don't worry about it, don't think about it twice. Wait, Wait for the next bus. It will come!!!!!!!

Thanks Teddy

|

Good morning. It is sort of lousy out today and i haven't eaten a thing. I need food. Not much exciting going on today. Will spend my day off paying my bills and perhaps writing a bit. Writing what you may ask? MY LIFE STORY, BUT OF COURSE!
It should be in paperback by 2007. Right now I am on the chapter entitled , "Kindergarden - What nun was the biggest bitch?"****

****Actually the nuns were quite nice to me.

|

April 21, 2003

FYI - hits means visitors.

|

19 hits today! Happy with that.

|

Happy noontime! I am at Comedy Central today. FREE FOOD! YEAH! Cinnie raisin bagel with a bit of cream cheese, and one chocolate chip cookie. The WADE DIET BEGINS!

It is very sunny today in NYC. In 9 days it will be my cousin GREG POULOS' BIRTHDAY! Greg is a good man who works in Boston. He was the only kid in my high school that could slam dunk a baskeball. Me, on the other hand... I CAN DUNK DONUTS!

|

April 20, 2003

Today at NBC before we have ARENA FOOTBALL, we are covering
CURLING - A CULT SPORT!

I just called my grandmother to wish her a Happy Easter and she thought NBC Sports was covering
HURLING.

I told her, "NO!, THERE'S A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HURLING AND CURLING!"

|

THE ADAM WADE FAN CLUB IS A WORK IN PROGRESS!
Working different means of promotion. You can join simply by scrolling down to the bottum of this page.

|

Happy Easter! I am spending the day working at NBC Sports (ARENA FOOTBALL). It's all part of paying dues I guess.

Last night I witness some great acting, sets, lights, etc at the ACTOR STUDIO SCENE STUDIES SOMETHING ER RATHER.
I found out you can't take photos during the play (it's sort of against the law).
I saw a bunch of old friends - Shay, Spanky, Trevor (and his friend Matt), Melissa, Jesse, and of course the great actress DENISE!!!!!

Denise was excellent in her role as an experienced lady who drinks scotch in the morning. BRAVO DENISE!

|

April 19, 2003

Jimmy and Randy my co-workers at NBC Sports think they are real tough.
THEY ARE! BUT NOT AS TOUGH AS ME! I AM WADE!

|

Big day at NBC Sports. Just ate a bagel. Excitement!!!!

|

April 18, 2003

I have actually been on a little road trip this week to see family in NH (that's why I've been eating so well).

I am heading back today. The weather has been dry and I hit Walmart last night and saw three hot ladies.
Now, seeing three hot ladies in a WALMART in NH is like witnessing Jesus Walking on the water!!!!!!!!!! (no joke)!

|

TOP 5 VISITORS TO THE SITE (as of late)
5) My Mom
4) Dr Cockwell
3) Larry Bird (yes, the good looking one)
2) JODI
1) The lady from Boston Market in Chelsea, I believe her name is Martha (thanks for the free extra side of Mac and Cheese).******

I took the extra side home and had it for dinner the next day.

|

I know I am beating to death the 'WHAT I ATE TODAY STUFF.' I was hoping for a major funny breakthrough with all that stuff as of late. I am 5' 8" (5' 9" on my driver's license) and 162 pounds - I AM BIG, I AM WIDE, I AM WADE!

I have been thinking about adding to whatever I write daily so here goes....
The flounder that I ate had Ritzie Cracker Stuffing.
The donuts were sloppy and messy and all the chocolate got on my hands.
I MADE THE CHICKEN SNADWICHES MYSELF - ON WONDERBREAD! with fat free mayo (I'm cutting down on calories).
I love frozen whoopee pies as much as I love fresh whoopee pies.
I love saying 'WHOOPIE PIES'.

|

April 17, 2003

Red Sox won tonight. Big game, Pedro got the win.

ANOTHER BAD DAY ON THE SITE - only 10 visitors.
THANKS TO JODI FOR ALWAYS CHECKING THE SITE.

Ate fish (broiled flounder) today and chicken (not fried). Ate two chocolate frosted donuts from Dunkins and a half of whoopee pie (frozen, but still good).
THE BIG WADE DIET BEGINS THIS MONDAY!!!!!!!!!

I bought a new watch today, and a new wallet, 9 pair of white socks, three shortsleeve dress shirts and a nosehair clipper (no joke). the nose hair clipper runs on batteries and is an incredible invention. LIFE IS GOOD.

|

April 16, 2003

BAD TODAY ON THE SITE
7 Visitors to the site. I guess people really don't care about the weather and food in my life.
I'm trying folks.

7 is better than 0.
So thank you LUCKY 7.

Today I had the day off and I took a very long walk. The weather is incredible. I ate a big lunch (chicken parm and spagetti and Greek Soup... and salad). After my long walk I ate a WHOOPIE PIE! YES, A WHOOPIE PIE. It's like a devil dog only it's like a sandwich. It's chocolate caking stuff with thick whip cream in the middle. A+

I LOVE WHOOPIE PIES!
(no joke)

I will have a few shows coming up in the next few weeks. Working on stuff like crazy so hope it all works out.

It feels like Spring today!

April 12, 2003

ADAM WADE (3rd person singular)
is not a star. Actually he is far from being a star.

But prior to being born, WADE DID SOME COOL STUFF.
check out WADE BEFORE HE WAS A FETUS.

|

Another big day at NBC Sports. Today I had a chocolate muffin (took a big bite, that's it DIETING!), then a grilled chicken caesar salad (too many croutons), and half a banana. Drinking a Diet Sprite.

Not a heck of a lot going on today.

Celebrity sighting - Ray Romano in the NBC Studio Bank Elevators with two women. He smiled at me and said, "Are you hot?" (I was wearing a fleece, sweatshirt and windbreaker.) I looked at Ray and retorted, "Now I am hot!" He and the two ladies looked at me like I was nuts.

April 10, 2003

I know this is long, but this is a very interesting article on Adam Sandler, who's movie with JACK opens tomorrow.
POWER JOKER
By ANTHONY BREZNICAN
------------------------------------------------------------------------

April 10, 2003 -- HE'S become a top box-office draw by playing infantile men prone to tantrums.

It's that childlike behavior that makes it hard to believe Adam Sandler is a workaholic and one of Hollywood's most powerful movie moguls.

"I was in his office 12 hours a day, and he was either working with me, or working on editing something else, or working on one of his other projects," said David Dorfman, screenwriter of "Anger Management," which opens tomorrow and co-stars Sandler and Jack Nicholson. "He worked non-stop."

Sandler, who never gives print interviews, joked to Associated Press Television News about why he wanted to work with three-time Oscar-winner Nicholson: "I said to myself, 'This poor fellow needs a gig.' "

Sandler has the freedom to do as he pleases, thanks to a string of successes at the box office - from 1995's "Billy Madison," a low-budget film which grossed $25 million, through "The Waterboy" and "Big Daddy," which each collected more than $160 million.

Described by Dorfman as a "benevolent mogul," the 36-year-old comic uses his clout to help his friends - guiding pet projects of fellow "Saturday Night Live" alums Rob Schneider, David Spade and Dana Carvey through the studio system.

"I don't really know why he did it, you'd have to ask him," said Carvey, of the help Sandler gave him in making "The Master of Disguise."

"I guess I was nice to him on 'Saturday Night Live' - thank God."

Under the umbrella of his Happy Madison production company, Sandler also produced Spade's "Joe Dirt" and the upcoming "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star," as well as Schneider's "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo," a $65 million hit.

Although Sandler's 2000 comedy "Little Nicky" was a step backward - underperforming with a $39 million gross - he still persuaded Sony Pictures to gamble on "Eight Crazy Nights" a cartoon partially inspired by a line in "The Hanukkah Song," a skit he'd developed for "SNL."

Dorfman joked that the studio probably would have made "a Kabuki play" if Sandler had wanted.

"If nothing else they respect box office," he said.

Sandler also used his influence to get Sony's support for last year's "Punch-Drunk Love," an arty, esoteric comedy-drama about a repressed man who falls in love despite his horrible bouts of rage.

The movie earned only about $18 million, but the film attracted a highbrow audience that had previously sneered at Sandler.

"It's in a more acceptable form, where critics can appreciate him, finally," Schneider said.

"These people were [saying] six months ago 'moron,' 'idiot,' 'idiot savant,' at best."

When film critic Roger Ebert, who had despised all of Sandler's previous films, crossed paths with the comic at a party, he praised him for "Punch-Drunk Love."

"I will have to tell my parents, so they can watch your show again," Sandler reportedly responded. "They had to stop watching your show because it made them say bad words."

Carvey describes Sandler's production company as a "big family" - the Web site features Sandler and co-workers playing basketball and romping on the company's new motor cart.

From composer to editor to production designer, Sandler surrounds himself with buddies, onscreen and off.

A few longtime friends regularly play goofy character roles in his films, and occasionally even his fiance, Jackie Titone, turns up in a bit part, playing a waitress in "Big Daddy" and an angel in "Little Nicky."

"Almost everybody he works with, he's had a relationship with since college or at least for many, many years," Dorfman said. "He likes to work with his friends."

Asked his reason for devoting so much time to producing, Sandler said, "Control. Not trusting anyone else. Fear of people. I don't like to be touched. As a producer I can guarantee that none of that stuff will happen."

Hello! A cold but sunny spring day here in NYC. Last night I attended a bash (big party) for one of my jobs! I had fun and drank 4 Bass Ale Pints (I got bombed - I am a lightweight). Really good times! (Okay I only had two beers. I Nursed the second for 3 hours)

I woke up with a rough hangover (2 beers will do that). I didn't eat breakfast but made two toasted chicken sandwiches on white Wonder bread and mayo for lunch. Then 3 graham crackers with MILK! WOW! Excitement personified! I might eat an apple later on if I'm in the mood.

Enjoy the day! I have 5 visitors so far today, let us pray I get 13. (just tryin to set some goals, you know).

April 09, 2003

Big Time!

14 visitors today, so far! WOW!

Cold rainy day here in NYC. WEATHER SUCKS! Performed last night at ARTKORE in Hoboken. It was a very musical night. Highlights included a man named Picasso doing poetry and song singing straight from the heart. $3 bottles of water. A great 80's esque duo ThunderChicken, (midsong the guitar player took a cigarette from behind his ear, put it in his mouth, some girl lit the cig and he kept it in his mouth the rest of the song. I thought he was going to have a stroke, huffing and puffing, but he looked cool in a funny way- this wasn't comedy but it was- because he was so cocky and serious. They rememded me of Wahlberg and Reilly in 'Boogie Nights.' When the song was over about 3 and half inches of ashes fell from his mouth). A guy named Johnathan Kennedy had a great two songs and when he was done he said, "I got CDs for $5 please buy one so I can buy a new pack of cigarettes. I swear it was 'Bum A Cigarette' night at this place. A lot of very nice people there. I did two songs - ROCK STAR AND WINNEBAGO!

April 08, 2003

It is like a cold January day here in NYC. Only it's APRIL! APRIL! Ah-h-h-h-h-h!
I hate this weather with a passion.

I ate a sub at Fiore's today in Hoboken (corn beef, motz and mustard) with a coffee espresso soda. A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

Today is 'dedicated to WADE Day.' I am going to spend my day working on my own creative endeavors. SAD NOTE: It's 1:40pm and I am already done.

|

April 07, 2003

Thanks for the overwhelming email responses in regard to my little plea yesterday for an OLD SLIDE PROJECTOR AND OLD OVERHEAD PROJECTOR. The only actual email I did receive since posting this request was entitled ' ADD INCHES AND GIRTH TO YOUR ****(harsh term for manhood).'

By the way, IT'S SNOWING HERE IN NYC! APRIL 7th and YES! IT'S SNOWING!

|

April 06, 2003

Shout out to my 100 visitors this week:
I AM LOOKING FOR EITHER AN OLD SLIDE PROJECTOR

YES! Another big day at NBC Sports. Why? ARENA FOOTBALL! CHEERS!

I ate a chocolate muffin and a cup of coffee. I gotta cut down on the sweets. BUT THEY WERE FREE!!!!

I am sad to say that David Bloom from NBC News died last night. I met him at NBC in an elevator when I was an NBC Page.
He was one of the few NBC TV personalities that went out of his way to ask me where I was from etc. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word.

WE WILL MISS YOU DAVID!

|

April 05, 2003

JODI, a longtime reader of this blog has recently gone AWOL from the site. She was one of the 4 people who would comment once in a while on this site.
I have checked other blogspot sites recently and seen her witty and funny comments there but... she has not been commenting on this particular site in the past few weeks.
SO PLEASE, COME BACK JODI! All of us here at adamwade.blogspot.com miss you! I take back all the praise I gave 'Donnie Darko.' Come back JODI!

|

Another big day at NBC Sports. Drizzling rain here in NYC. And COLD! Winter jacket weather. Ziggy, the electrician, is in the studio. I called him Iggy by accident. He didn't seem to mind. He must get that a lot.

So as far as my entry yesterday, yes, GIRLS AND BOYFRIENDS. DAMN! ALL THE GOOD ONES HAVE BOYFRIENDS.

There's a great quote in an under-rated Ted Demme movie Beautiful Girls (speaking about the Uma Thurman character one of the guys says, "Girls like that are born with boyfriends."
TRUE! VERY TRUE!

"It's a long way to the top if.... you want to rock and roll." - ACDC
TRUE! VERY TRUE!

"She makes my heart ache.... like donuts and pancakes." - WADE Thursday night after 7 beers, double rejection, and a 2am heavy breakfast.

GIRLS AND BOYFRIENDS by Adam Wade
__________________________________

Girl in my English Class likes jello
Maybe she'll like me, I'm not shallow
I walked to her and say, 'How do you do?'
I get all nervous inside I think I'm gonna puke.
So I just ask her if she's having any fun?
Next Question up...."Are you seeing anyone?"

She smiles and says she has a boyfriend.
You gotta love the girls with the boyfriends.

Now I don't what to do or what to say
Where to go or how long there I have to stay.

(repeat this verse about every other week)

April 03, 2003

Good afternoon. A nice, but brisk, Spring day in NYC.

Not a heck of a lot going on.

WADE is working on a gameplan for the next few months
(as far as shows and performing and the production of a movie short).

WADE IS ALL BUSINESS TODAY. (be that the WADE BUSINESS)

Like I said... NOT a heck of a lot going on.

April 01, 2003

I think I got my heart broken last night. I really think it got broken (just a bit).
I guess that's what happens when you got to a bar and order a Diet Sprite.
Sometimes I am a sad sack! I appreciate my co-workers' (Laura, Jeremy in post, Jessica, Kevin, Adam CK, Bobey etc) advice with my lady situation, but go figure. The girl didn't dig me.

If you are interested in getting tickets to Colin Quinn's show here are the details.
I work on the show and it will help me (my career) if you call and come to the show.
Because people who work on the show will think I have a lot of friends.
