TODAY - SCREW THE NJ TRANSIT BUS DRIVER CIRCA 5/31/07 8:45pm EST!
I went to grab the bus today by the gas station.
I stood at the stop with two pretty girls.
A bus came by, it was NOT full (empty seats).
Stuck in traffic the bus was literally in front of me.
The bus driver wouldn't open the door.
I walked up to the door and knocked.
NO ACKNOWLEDGMENT!
I knocked again (harder).
He just looked at me, and then drove off.
WHAT A DICK!
The two pretty girls looked over at me, and I said to them, "It's very hurtful to be rejected by a busdriver."
They agreed.
We got on the next bus.

Julián Tavárez had a very happy birthday yesterday. On the day he turned 34, he earned his 34th career victory as a starter in the Red Sox’ 7-3 win over the Yankees last night at Yankee Stadium.
“Nothing can be better than this,” said Tavárez, whose overall career record is 80-63. “I was hoping to get the W. This was big for me. This is the only gift I want right now.”

CHALK ONE UP FOR WADE!
When I ordered my chocolate twist and ice coffee I promised the counter woman that I WOULDN'T roll my eyes while she took my order.
She laughed, I laughed. A great way to start the day.
When I got to work, I opened my bag from Amy's Bread and I had 2 (only ordered and paid for 1) chocolate twists.

ADAM HOSTS A BIG SHOW THIS MONDAY!
New York Stories
Featuring Graduates of the MothSHOP Community Program
Monday, May 14th
High school may not always be a good time, but it sure leads to great stories-and produces compelling, hilarious, and creative storytellers. Join The Moth for a funky, fast-paced night of tales told by the talented students of Bard and Millennium high schools, accompanied by the always irreverently fabulous Adam Wade, and the musical spinnings of SUPERVIXEN.
Hear about first pets and first Harley rides, be transported from a Polish farm to the coat-check room of a posh Tribeca restaurant, and if you think having one mom is tough, wait until you find out what it's like to have four. Whatever the topic, these stories will move you-whether they pick you up, push you down, or just plain spin you around.

About the MothSHOP Community Program:
The MothShop Community Program brings storytelling workshops to teen and adult populations in New York City. The workshops are designed to help graduates shape their life experiences into well-crafted narratives and to provide tools for improved communication skills through the art of storytelling. This show features stories from students at The Bard High School Early College and The Millennium High School.
Featuring Students from:
The Bard High School Early College (BHSEC)
The BHSEC was founded in 2001 as an alternative to the traditional high school and is a collaboration between the New York City Department of Education and Bard College. The BHSEC was founded on the belief that many young people are ready and eager to do serious college work at age 16. It enables highly motivated students to move in four years from ninth grade through the first two years of college, earning the associate of arts (A.A.) degree as well as a high school diploma.

and
The Millennium High School (MHS)
MHS was founded in 2002; it provides a rigorous liberal arts academic program in a youth development partnership with the YMCA of Greater New York. MHS prepares graduates for a college of choice and empowers students through the setting and reaching of goals. The Millennium High School also believes in teacher leadership and provides an extensive professional development program focused on content, pedagogy, and youth development / advisement.

ADAM'S FRIEND SET TO RETIRE

This is very difficult for me. SAMMY, my favorite elevator operator is retiring and moving to Bermuda. I always enjoyed walking into work and seeing 'my friend.' He always asks me, "Why the sky is blue?" I'm going to miss that question, SAMMY.
Today in the elevator he asked me the question and I smiled and looked back at him and said, "You really want to know the answer... WHY NOT!"
He looked at me very confused and said, "Huh?"
I said to him, "You asked me 'why is the sky blue,' well, my answer is... 'WHY NOT!'"
He shook his head and said, "No, that does not make sense, Mr. Adam."
I responded, "Oh yes it does. Good luck in Bermuda, Sammy!"
