Even though it's August, it's cold and rainy, and that's depressing.

So maybe it's not a surprise that Hoboken bloggers are writing about lost loves (and mix tapes), remembering what high school was like, and what they'll miss (and not miss) when they move out of Hoboken.

Let's check in with Adam Wade, who takes us through the mix tape he made for his first love in New York City, Amy.


Amy moved to New York City and worked as an actress while trying to become a model, but ultimately she moved back to Kansas City to work at her parents' pharmacy.

I've been meaning to put this up for a long time.

Well done to whomever did it.

12am last night I was at my favorite local Hoboken bar, and I was wearing my 'WADE shirt' under a J.Crew button down my boy Mike C. had recently given me.

Nick, the bartender slapped down a Miller Light and accidentally dumped half the beer all over my new favorite shirt. He apologized (I know you didn't mean it, pal! ) as I quickly took it off. Meanwhile bar regular, Big Tom (Raiders Fan), laughed hysterically

I was now wearing my 'WADE' shirt in public, and as I headed for the door, a girl (from Bayonne I believe) seated by her friends pointed at me and said kinda jerkyly, "Is that your name? Wayyyyyde?"

I stared at her for a brief second and said, "You're goddamn right! I AM WAYYYYDE!"

She looked flustered and I got the 'f' out of Dodge.

Please... be good to me.

It was my mom's birthday this week.

I must say, they came out a lot better than the drumsticks this past weekend.

Yes, I did overcook the hot dogs (like my Aunt Arety used to like them).

Tried to cook drumsticks this weekend and it didn't work too well. Usually, I'm pretty good at 'over cooking them.' But... this time I under cook them.

LESSON LEARNED: Better to over cook and than under cook.

Back to just making macaroni, I DO THAT GREAT!

I did Cyndi Freeman's storytelling show last night @
Coraline Cafe, in Brooklyn on 62 Street and 5th Ave.

It was a sweet, friendly and diverse crowd of people. A carpenter originally from Mexico was there with one of his friends and though his friend had to translate everything he said to me after the show, I could tell he enjoyed himself. Even though he didn't speak English, as I performed he watched me intently. He laughed, he smiled, he clapped.

After the show he waved me over and bought me a beer (Corona). His pal translated what he kept repeating in Spanish to me, "Mexico Loves Wade." He gave me the thumbs up and patted me on the back. I must say this was one of the nicest things that I've experienced as a performer.

What a good night! Thanks again Cyndi.
